May 4th, 5.30-9pm: Remembering the Blitz.

Come and join us at St Sidwell’s Community Centre on Thursday 4th May for an event to mark 75 years since the Exeter Blitz. Enjoy singing of a few 1940s era songs and peace songs from Newtown Community Choir and the WREN Youth Choir (7-7.30pm) followed by the free screening of a new film of memories about the Blitz produced by Exeter’s Underground Passages at 8pm. We will have a temporary display in the centre from 1pm until the event finishes at around 9.30pm. We will also be celebrating reaching our fundraising target to restore The Lost Treasures of St Sidwell’s (see film below): beautiful stained glass windows and two Victorian statues which were lost after the Exeter Blitz.
