Bud Grafting Course
5 August 2021
Chip bud grafting is a method of propagating trees, or making more trees out of the one you have. In this method a bud is removed from the parent plant, and the base of the bud is inserted beneath the bark of the stem of the stock plant from which the rest of the shoot has been cut. In this session you’ll learn about grafting trees, and how to do bud grafting, then you’ll have a chance to graft your own tree (we will use fruit trees), and either take it home or leave it at St Sidwell’s Community Centre.
Our gardening workshops include a mixture of hands-on learning in our city centre community veg garden as well as the theory to underpin your practical skills. We will follow the covid safety guidelines in place at the time of the session- this might include social distancing and wearing masks indoors.
We want all our courses to be accessible. Via the website you can book a place for £15 or £10. If you’d like to attend but these prices would be a barrier please get in touch and we can make concessions on an individual basis.
