At The Sidwell Street Café, we pride ourselves on serving good quality, locally-sourced, nutritious and delicious food that’s also extremely good value for money. It is run by qualified staff, with the support of many dedicated volunteers. When available, we use produce grown in our garden or surplus food donated from local supermarkets. We make all our cakes from scratch and are starting to produce real bread to serve in the café and to sell.
The Sidwell Street Café is more than just a café; it is a community. Every visitor to our café provides crucial support towards our inclusive work experience and training programmes.
Many volunteers at the café experience a growth in confidence, and gain work experience and training. This includes food preparation, serving, customer service, barista skills and more. If, on occasion, the service may be quirky or not be instant, we trust that the warmth and contributing to the wider good will more than compensate.
