Free ESOL Classes

We offer free ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes. These informal classes, taught by volunteer teachers, are open to everyone who wants to improve their English, to make new friends and to share their ideas and experiences with other people from around the world. Classes run throughout the school year and are available for all levels from Beginner to Advanced.

‘It’s always fascinating, and often humbling, to go to Sid’s to teach an Advanced class. People from at least 40 countries have passed through and I’ve learned a huge amount about their lives as well as doing my best to satisfy their curiosity about the UK.’

‘I enjoy meeting students from many different countries. The mixture of cultures makes the classes very interesting, we are all learning about each other and the world whilst teaching and learning English.’

‘Witnessing the transformative journey of my students as they enhance their language skills is immensely rewarding. The welcoming atmosphere and sense of community at St. Sidwell’s have allowed me to not only share my knowledge but also to encourage personal growth, cultural exchange, and lasting connections that make every moment worthwhile.’
