A memorial recording of this tomb was taken in July 2017.  Portions of the incised inscription were clear but worn, and other areas were too weathered to be legible.  The inscription that was distinguishable read:

IN THE GREAT
AND TENDER PITY OF CHRIST
HERE REST YE BODIES OF

(on the east side of the tomb)

(on the north side of the tomb)
THIS WAS HIS ____
**
____ MERCY

This memorial was also recorded in 1984 and forms part of an archive at the Devon Record Office.  The memorial record from 1984 records the inscription as follows:

YE REVEREND GEORGE SERCOMBE LUKE
