St Sidwell’s Community Centre is located in the heart of Exeter, with easy access for public transport. We are located within a five minute walk of the main bus station, a 10 minute walk from Exeter Central Rail Station and 15 minutes drive from the M5 motorway. Cycle parking is available onsite.
We offer room hire at competitive prices. We have a variety of rooms suitable for meetings, lectures, training, workshops, community activities and much more.
Room hire is available 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. Outside of these hours, room hire is available at the discretion of the Centre, and there may be an additional charge outside our core hours. For weekend availability please contact us to discuss.

Saturday Opening
Open 10am – 4pm Upon Request
The Centre is available for hire on Saturdays between 10am and 4pm. We are closed on Sundays.
Access to toilets is available. Tea and Coffee can be provided on request but please note that the café will be closed. No access to the kitchen is permitted unless paid for.
The cost of hiring a room is as follows:
Kitchen Hire £35.00 per hour (must be minimum Level 2 food hygiene trained)
Café Area £25.00 per hour
Rougemont Room £20.00 per hour
Old Chapel £20.00 per hour
Hennis Room £20.00 per hour
Hems Room £20.00 per hour
Above prices include an out of hours charge for unlocking and locking the centre.
If you require the centre to stay open during the day, then a staff member may be required to be on site:
Cost of staff member £15.00 per hour that staff are on site on top of the room hire charge.
Extra terms and conditions for a Saturday booking
- These conditions are in addition to our normal terms.
- The front door must stay closed, unless you are letting people in and out for your group. This is to stop people entering the centre whilst groups are in rooms, without due cause.
- Only people connected to your event must be allowed into the building.
- If you require the centre to be open because you want the public to be part of your event, a member of staff may be required to be on site. This can be negotiated.
- All rubbish must be removed from the site after you have finished.
- The rooms must be returned to the setup they were in at the start of the booking. Standard setup is a board room style. Take a picture before re-arranging the room.
- When hiring the kitchen, you may use any of the equipment, however no items of kitchen equipment are to be removed from the building. If you need to transport food, you will be required to supply your own food containers. The kitchen must be cleaned and left in the same state as you found it.
- Ensure that you are familiar with the fire alarm instructions.


Equipment and facilities available
All rooms, apart from Sidwella, have free access to the internet and have access to a whiteboard.
- Tables and chairs – just let us know how you want them set up. The Hennis room is pre-set to a boardroom style with 12 chairs and cannot be altered.

- Tea and coffee can be purchased from the small kitchen all day.

Refreshments can be purchased from our café during opening hours. If you want to bring your own tea and coffee, we will provide a pump jug of hot water and 10 cups for the one off cost of £5.00, with free re-fills. If you require 20 cups then you must order 2 pump jugs at a cost of £10.00.
Buffet catering can also be arranged through the café.
